Mini Soccer 2019
Southdale Mini soccer
is a fun introduction to the sport of soccer for children who live in the
Southdale Community Centre catchment area (including Southdale, Island Lakes,
Royalwood and Sage Creek). Over 900 children are registered each spring for
Southdale Outdoor Mini Soccer, so many volunteer coaches are needed. All players, coaches and spectators are expected to conduct themselves
in a positive, respectful and appropriate manner.
The season will run
for 8 weeks from April 29-June 23, with the following schedule and fees:
* U3 (Born 2016)
Sundays 4:00-4:45pm $30
* U4 (Born 2015)
Sundays 3:00-3:45pm $30
*U5 (Born 2014)
Mondays and Wednesdays 6:00-7:00pm
*U6 (Born 2013)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 6:00-7:00pm
MALE & FEMALE
*U7 (Born 2012)
Tuesdays and Thursdays 7:00-8:00pm
*U8 (Born 2011)
Mondays and Wednesdays 7:00-8:00pm
* For U3 and U4
players, it is expected that a family member will be available to work/play
with the child for warm up/practice when called upon by the coaches.
The age brackets are
based on the birth year (January 1 to December 31) of the child only. Requests
for players to participate in different age groups will not be considered. Friend
requests for children in the same year will be considered but not
guaranteed. There is a maximum of
one friend request per player and it must be reciprocated.
At the conclusion of
the season, the annual Soccer Extravaganza will be held at De La Seigneurie
Park on the weekend of June 22-23 (therefore these game times will not be
consistent with regular game times).
to support the Long Term Development Program (LTPD) as outlined by the Manitoba
Soccer Association (MSA.) The U5-U8 teams will continue to be smaller
than average, with fewer players on the field at a time (allowing more touches
on the ball.)
received in the registration period will be accepted. Registrations
received after the deadline will be accepted based on availability and be
subject to Southdale’s late fee policy - no exceptions.
Schedules will not be
available until closer to the season start. The only necessary equipment for
Mini Soccer is shin guards. Cleats are optional, but not required. Players will
receive jerseys at their first games.
