Registration for youth soccer (9-18 years) located here
Message from Bonivital Soccer Club:
Youth
Soccer Families
As the
weather gets warmer, and our young athletes get closer to being back on the
field, it’s important to extend a collective and sincere thank you to all the
countless volunteers, our Community Centres, the BVSC technical team, and it’s
Board of Directors for the immense amount of work they’ve been doing in preparation
for a safe return to soccer.
Next, as it
relates to Youth Soccer in the province, and specifically for those families in
our district, there will be no compromise when it comes to fun, but we did want
to alert you of a few changes concerning registration and program delivery.
First,
registration will look a little different.
1. The Manitoba Soccer Association
(MSA) has introduced a new registration step; all youth soccer players wishing
to play soccer in a sanctioned league in the province of Manitoba will first
register on their site here. As well, to proactively
address some of your possible questions about this change, here is a link to more
information via their Guide and FAQ
2. There will now be a central
registration format for all youth soccer players from the Bonivital district
(i.e. anyone living in the catchments of Dakota, Greendell, Norberry Glenlee,
Winakwa, Windsor, Champlain, Norwood, Southdale, Archwood & Notre Dame).
**The
fees are now posted, and the registration links are active. They can be found
on the BVSC website.
Second,
the MSA recently introduced the “Standards for Quality Soccer” with a goal to standardize
soccer programming in the province with a system of Club Licensing. What
does this mean for you and your child? You are encourage to learn more it here.
Background: Youth Soccer is available
for anyone between the ages of 9-18 (born 2013 to 2002). Teams are formed by
birth years and the city-wide league is organized by WYSA (the Winnipeg Youth
Soccer Association). Games are traditionally played in months of May/June in
and around the city of Winnipeg, however for 2021, there may be minor
adjustments to ensure a smooth and careful “Return to Play”.
Finally, due
to this change in requirements, Bonivital Soccer Club (BVSC) has officially
given notice of a Special General Meeting which is set to take place
virtually via Zoom on Wednesday, March 24th, 2021. Registration will begin
at 6:30 with the meeting to follow at 7 pm.
**All soccer
families interested in attending are invited to do so via an RSVP to Steven.
Last,
we also appreciate that with change comes questions, so we’ll update this page
as more becomes known, but we also encourage you to check back for updates.
